Veteran Disability Benefits

At Levine Law, LLC, we represent individuals who are seeking Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for a disability. We also represent veterans who are seeking disability benefits.

The process of obtaining disability benefits for a veteran is different than obtaining benefits for a civilian. If you are a disabled veteran, it is important to work with an attorney who understands this process.

I am attorney Pamela Levine, and I can help you understand your options for seeking disability benefits for a disabling injury, illness or condition. The amount you may receive a veteran is based on percentage of disability, from 10 percent to 100 percent. I can explain this formula and help you determine your best options for seeking benefits based on your percentage of disability. Qualifying for Veteran Disability Benefits

In order to qualify for veteran disability benefits, an individual must meet the following criteria:

  • The individual must have served in active military
  • The individual must have a medically diagnosed disability
  • The injury or illness must have started or occurred while the individual was serving in the military
  • The injury or illness must be service-connected, meaning that the disabling condition must be related to the individual's active duty time

Many initial VA benefits claims are denied or the disability percentage is deemed too low. If your initial claim has been denied, it's important not to get discouraged. I can explain your options for appealing the denial to the Board of Veterans' Appeals and additional options. Schedule a free consultation to learn more.
